The Boiling Crab is Possibly the Worst Restaurant Experience I've Ever Had. Bar None.
Updated: Sep 28, 2020
Wow, I wish I had thought of this. Mediocre food, served in large plastic bags, with no utensils or plates.
Hmmm..the server brings a bucket to the table, where she unceremoniously drags out these huge bags and drops them on the table...like in prison I imagine. Except they don't allow bags in prison so they use metal trays, which would be an improvement in this place.
So lets see, the perfect recipe for a profitable restaurant (and I know, I've owned one before):
1. No plates, knives, forks or glassware
2. Since you don't have anything to wash, you don't need to have a dishwasher. Or dishes.
3. $1 a glass wine poured in plastic cups for $7 a glass
4. They tell you all the food comes out when it is ready, so the kitchen doesn't have to figure out how to serve a whole table at the same time. This is from a chain that has 22 restaurants. So we got one plate in about 5 minutes, then another in 5 minutes and the next came about 15 minutes later. We were done when the 3rd plate came out.
5. Crawfish? There was about 2oz of food in the whole $18 sack. Plus two mushrooms, one ear of corn and one potato. Maybe $2 worth of food in the whole sack.
6. This is the best part: when you are done, they wheel over a large trash can and scrape all the food, bags, napkins and whatever else garbage you leave on the table, into the can. Then they wheel it away to God knows where. The amount of garbage this place generates must be staggering.
Avoid this place, they make it seem like eating with your hands is something you should be happy about, so I guess we didn't need forks, knives and plates after all. And the prices are nothing to be thrilled about. Even the lowest of the low-end mom & pop fast food places tries harder than this place. I was really hoping for something like Seafood Broiler (or even an upscale Red Lobster). What a joke. King's makes this place look like a High school cafeteria in Somalia. Actually, that would be an insult to Somalian High School Cafeterias.
